The What, How and Why

Grayson Farms was always intended to be a blessing to many people. It is a place where people can come together and be inspired by all that nature has to offer. Like the line in Field of Dreams, “build it and they will come”, the Atkinsons have endeavored to build a special place, full of beauty, bounty and memorable experiences for others to share in. For them the reasons are simple. Southern hospitality, service to others, and living out The Good Book are just a way of life.

History of Grayson Farms

Grayson Farms is the story of the Atkinson Family’s journey from the hustle and bustle of city life to the peaceful serenity of the north Texas countryside. Located in Bells, Texas, just 25 minutes from Sherman, the family bought 24 acres of pristine land in Grayson and Fannin County in 2021 and founded Grayson Farms. The project began with the installation of a barndominium and a fruit tree orchard. Soon after, a Great Pumpkin Patch was commissioned for the Grand Opening in October. Currently, the Atkinsons are creating a veritable Garden of Eden on the front lawn to entertain guests for both private and public events.

Nestled in the heart of picturesque countryside, this destination provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With a range of camping options, from traditional tent sites to modern RV hookups, visitors can tailor their stay to their preferred level of comfort. The farm’s scenic surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for a variety of events, including corporate retreats, and family reunions. The Vision: Collected and Connected

The idea behind Grayson Farms goes much deeper than just one farm collecting its own bounty of sun-ripened deliciousness. Grayson Farms also collects food products such as honey and grass-fed beef from other local producers. Thus, the tagline, “Collected and Connected”. In this way Grayson Farms connects local producers to local consumers. Beyond food, Grayson Farms connects the community together through hosted public and private events. Ultimately Grayson Farms is meant to connect visitors to nature and to education, proving that anyone can be a modern-day Pioneer Woman or Grizzly Adams.

Meet The Atkinsons

Grayson Farms is a picture of the lives and loves of the Atkinson family, including Justin, Kristen and their son Luke. After earning his Eagle Scout and History degree from Texas A&M, Justin founded a successful event staffing company in Dallas. Kristen is a degreed chef with over a decade of hospitality experience including five years as a personal chef. She has since studied nutrition and gardening extensively, including graduating from Texas A&M’s local Master Gardner’s program. Then there is Luke, who is the inspiration for answering the question, “How do we keep the kids entertained when we get there?” To that end, The Atkinsons are always mindful to have family-friendly games, activities and education available for both the kids and parents.

The Future: Camping and Events

Grayson Farms is being developed on a four-phase master plan that will take it from its humble farming beginnings to a first-class RV resort. The plan pairs chef Kristen’s garden and culinary creations with Justin and Luke’s planned outdoor sports and activities. Inspired by The Biggest Little Farm, phase one includes installing vegetable beds alongside colorful foliage meant to draw people and wildlife. Phase two sees the addition of a pavilion, playground and full hook up RV camping sites. Phase three adds a second campground with a kid-safe splash pad as well as weekend classes, sports and activities for visitors. Phase four adds glamping to the list of overnight stay options with the installation of sheik condo-style ‘cabins’. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2028 and will help to serve as one of north Texas’ local gems.

Grayson Farms is dedicated to providing a wide range of events and activities for guests to enjoy throughout the year.
